In case you haven’t heard of him, Tim Atkin is an award-winning wine writer and Master of Wine, with over 30 years’ experience in the industry. He writes for a number of publications, including Harpers, Decanter, The World of Fine Wine, Gourmet Traveller Wine and The Drinks Business and is one of the Three Wine Men. He is a co-chairman of the International Wine Challenge, the world’s most rigorously judged blind tasting competition, and has won over 30 awards for his journalism and photography. His titles and accolades are too numerous to list here, but you can find them here.
Tim will take us through 8 South African wines that he has judged to be among the best. The provisional lineup features:

- 2022 Scions of Sinai OVP Féniks (95 for the 2021)
- 2022 Mullineux Straw Wine (97 points)
The wines will be accompanied by appropriately matched cheeses by Culinaris. Please note that the food is designed as an accompaniment to the wine, which is the main focus of the event!
Please note that you should refrain from wearing scented products to wine tastings. They will not only annoy fellow guests, but also compromise the quality of your wine tasting experience. While you may be acclimated to your cologne, everyone else can still smell it.
Cancellation Policy:
If we need to cancel this event, we will notify you in advance and issue a full refund. If you can no longer make a tasting, and email us at wine@amphoracambridge.com over 48 hours before the tasting, we will issue you a full refund, or you may transfer your booking to a future event or store credit. Within 48h of an event, we cannot provide a refund, but you are welcome to send a friend in your place.
