This tasting will be hosted by Amphora, with winemaker Mafalda Vasques from Herdade dos Grous in Alentejo, Portugal, who will take us through 6 of her wines – 3 white and 3 red. This is an opportunity to taste Mafalda’s newest premium white, fermented and matured in concrete tanks, and customer favourite, the Moon-Harvested Alicante Bouchet.
As with all tastings, you will taste a minimum of 6 wines, accompanied by culturally-appropriate hors d’oeuvres. In this case Portuguese meats and cheeses, traditional sardine paté, and more. There is no need to bring anything, but please refrain from wearing fragrances, so as to appreciate the delicate aromas of the wines.
Herdade dos Grous belongs to the Austrian/German Pohl family. The establishment of the estate and the cultivation of the vines, as well as a custom state-of-the-art wine cellar, are all based on the latest findings in high-end viticulture.
